    Some essential summer reading

So with summer finally upon us, everyone is in holiday mode. The slightly quieter summer season is not only an ideal chance to catch up on that boring admin you’ve been putting off whilst you’ve been busy, but also a great time to take stock of your career.

With less than 6 months of the year left, are you in the role you want to be in in 2017?If not, then you need to start doing something about it now. You’re great at delivering your objectives and targets for your boss, but how good are you at prioritising your own career and development?

Time away from your desk, lying on a sun lounger, is the ideal time to reflect on what is important to you. If you had to score your satisfaction with your career out of 10, what would you give it? What would it take for that score to be improved by 1? What would 10/10 feel and look like for you?

Imagine it is the 2nd January, 2017. It is the first day back to work after the Christmas break. What do you want your working life to look like? What changes need to happen now to make that a reality?

Setting yourself small, manageable goals and targets will help you take action towards making that dream job a reality. Your career deserves some dedicated attention. Taking the time in between pina coladas and dips in the pool to work out what you really want, rather than what everyone else thinks is good for you, is a great first step.

If you want more support to realise your potential and feel fulfilled, get in touch to discuss how we can help you.
